Festival fun on the way to Blacon
20 June 2022
Excitement is building in Blacon, with the return of the fun-filled Blacon Festival less than two weeks away.
The event is now in its 25th year and is recognised as Chester’s largest community-led festival, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
Organised by social enterprise Avenue Services, the festival is taking place at Queen Elizabeth Fields on Blacon Avenue from 11am-3pm on Saturday 2 July.
Attractions will include a family dog show, Zumba, an assault course and performances from local musicians and dancers. There will also be a host of stalls and plenty of tempting refreshments available.
The festival has a ‘World Cup’ theme, with visitors and stallholders encouraged to dress for the occasion and prizes on offer for the best colourful costumes.
Entry is free and the festival is open to all.
Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “Preparations are all in place and it’s shaping up to be another great Blacon Festival.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to all those who have already supported the event and look forward to seeing everyone on the day for what should be a wonderful community celebration.”
