Get involved and help shape services in Chester
7 October 2022
Housing provider Sanctuary has an opportunity for a local resident to get involved and help shape the service it delivers to people in Chester.
Sanctuary currently has a vacancy on its Chester and District Committee, which monitors the landlord services it provides to its 6,500 homes in and around the city.
The committee also has an important say on community priorities and deciding how money is invested in the local area. It is made up of two independent members, two local councillors and six Sanctuary residents.
Experience is not essential – you simply need to be a Sanctuary resident and have a real desire to make a positive difference to the Chester community.
It’s a great way to get involved and work more closely with your housing provider, and to have a genuine voice and influence on the matters that are important to you.
Committee members need to attend quarterly meetings, which are held both virtually and in person. The position is unpaid but expenses and full training are provided.
Ria Burns, Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, said: “We’re committed to listening to our residents and putting those conversations at the heart of everything we do. The committee is an important part of that and a great way for residents to share their views on the services we deliver.
“We’d love to hear from any residents who are passionate about Chester and interested in helping us make a positive difference for our local communities.”
